Enlace-28. Javier Viver

In this session organised by the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the artist will talk about his work and present the videos Sic Transit (2003), The Audience (2005) and the series The Celebrities (2006), his most recent project. In it, Viver presents a reflection on contemporary vanity with a series of short videos in which Hollywood stars are presented as copies of the mythical Narcissus, metamorphosing into monstrous creatures and secular Cyclops.

Javier Viver’s work has been shown in, among other sites, the Queens Museum of Art (New York), the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna (Roma), Location One (New York), the Centro Cultural La Recoleta (Buenos Aires), the Centro Cultural Conde Duque and the Casa de América (Madrid).
