Introduction

The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía commits to making its website accessible, in accordance with Royal Decree 1112/2018, of 7 September, concerning the accessibility of websites and mobile applications in the public sector, by which (EU) Directive 2016/2012 from the European Parliament and Council, of 26 October 2016, is transposed. The present accessibility statement applies to the website www.museoreinasofia.es, excluding embedded content from other domains.

Compliance status

The said website is partially pursuant to Royal Decree 1112/2018 owing to the non-compliance of aspects indicated below.

Non-accessible content

The content outlined below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

  1. Non-compliance with Royal Decree 1112/2018
    1. Some pages have a video player incorporated which lacks a mode for selecting and playing available audio-descriptions (requirement number 7.2.1 of standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 Playing audio-descriptions).
    2. Data from the audio-description to transfer, record or convert video with synchronised audio may not be entirely preserved (requirement number 7.2.3 of standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 Playing audio-descriptions).
    3. Some images are not tagged or have a generic text alternative (requirement number 9.1.1.1 of standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 Non-textual content).
    4. Some pre-recorded videos on the website do not have an audio-description or alternative media (requirement numbers 9.1.2.3 and 9.1.2.5 from the standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 Audio-descriptions or alternative media [recording]).
    5. On some pages, the information, structure and relationships are not determined by software or do not have text alternatives (requirement number 9.1.3.1 of standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 Information and relationships)
    6. On some forms the input field which compiles user information does not have an intended use identified (requirement number 9.1.3.5 of standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 Identifying intended input use).
    7. In some texts the font size cannot be changed to 200 percent without losing content and functionality (requirement number 9.1.4.4 of standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 Change of text size).
    8. On some pages the content may lose functionality or information when enlarged (requirement number 9.1.4.10 of standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 Text readjustment).

    13. On some pages the user interface components such as form elements, links and script-generated components do not follow the structure recommended by accessibility guidelines (requirement number 9.4.1.2 of standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 Name, function, value).

  3. The content does not fall inside the scope of applicable legislation
    1. Certain office files in PDF or other formats published prior to 20 September 2018 may exist which do not completely fulfil all accessibility requirements. However, efforts have been made to ensure the majority meet these requirements.
    2. There may be third-party content which is not developed by the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía or which is not under its control, for example office archives.
    3. There may be pre-recorded archives published prior to 20 September 2018 which do not fully meet accessibility requirements.

In accordance with article 10.2.b of RD 1112/2018, the following can also be submitted:

Complaints procedure

If an accessible information request or related complaint has been disregarded, or if there is a disagreement over the decision taken or if the reply does not fulfil the requirements stipulated in article 12.5, the interested party may file a complaint. Equally, a complaint may be filed if no reply has been received within a period of twenty working days.

The complaint may be submitted by writing to the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía’s accesibilidad@museoreinasofia.es email address, in addition to the options stipulated in Law 39/ 2015, of 1 October, from the Common Administrative Procedure of Spain’s Public Administrations.
